VISA REQUIRED, PASSPORT REQUIRED
OVERVIEW
For US citizens you will need a passport valid for at least six months following the date of your arrival to Indonesia. You are required to have a visa to enter Indonesia, obtained either beforehand or, in limited circumstances, on arrival.
The following applies for U.S. Citizens:
TOURIST TRAVEL:
Step 1 - Gather the Following Requirements

Current Passport |
|
|
|
Applicant must submit their current passport. Indonesia visas are stamped into a passport, therefore the the original passport is required.
Note: In order to obtain Indonesia visas, passport must have one blank visa page (typically the last few pages of the passport are marked "Amendment" and are not valid for visas) and must be valid for at least six months past the date of entry into Indonesia. |

Photo Requirement |
|
|
|
Applicant must submit two (2) identical, color, passport style photographs. The photos must be recent and generally should not be the same used for the passport itself. Passport photos can be obtained at most post offices, Kinko's, Walgreens, etc. |

|

Proof of Travel |
|
|
|
Applicant must submit a computer-generated itinerary from a travel agency or online booking tool (such as e-confirmation from an airline or Travelocity, Orbitz, etc) showing departure from the U.S. and arrival/departure for Indonesia.
Although applicant may be submitting documents along with other family members, when submitted to an embassy or consulate, applications are treated individually. If applicant is under 18 years old, include the following:
1) Color copies of parents valid passports. If either, or both, parents do not have valid passports, include color copies of driver's license or other state issued ID. If either, or both, parents are not US citizens, include copies of ID and copies of US visa or permanent resident card (Green card).
2) Include a letter of authorization for child to obtain visa and travel.

Introduction Letter |
|
|
|
Applicant must provide the Indonesia Embassy with a personal cover letter describing the purpose of travel to Indonesia. This must be written in first person and signed and dated by the applicant. |

Leave of Absence Letter |
|
|
|
Applicant must submit a letter affirming a leave of absence provided by employer. If applicant is a student, applicant must provide a letter from the university affirming a leave of absence. |

Proof of Finances |
|
|
|
Applicant must submit three most recent bank statements.
Applicant must show on most recent statement sufficient funds to support themselves during the visit (generally this equals $100 USD per day in country).
Bank statement should be originals, although print outs of online statements are often accepted. |

1.7 |
Visa Application |
|
|
|
Applicant must submit one completed Indonesia visa application. Applications should be printed single-sided and signed in blue or black ink only.

Applicant must submit a Business Cover Letter (BCL) from a U.S. company. The BCL must be an original signed document on company letterhead indicating the date, duration and purpose of travel to Indonesia, list a contact and address at the host company, and observe moral and financial responsibility for the applicant. Please review the example below.

Letter of Invitation |
|
|
|
Applicant must submit a Letter of Invitation from the inviting party or organization in Indonesia. The letter should introduce the applicant, detail the purpose of the trip to Indonesia, provide dates of the visit and be signed by a company officer with contact details included.
Scanned/printed copies are generally acceptable. |
