Obtain a NY title only

 

If a car is bought from a private person

Required: 

  • Title signed over
  • Bill of sale
  • Copy of the persons NY state license or 6 points of ID. If that is not possible the date of birth
  • Actual mileage and color of vehicle if it is not on the title
  • A check to DMV for taxes-if taxes are due
  • A check to DMV for $50.00 (without lien) / $55.00 (with lien)

Important Note: 
This is a two step procedure; we clear the taxes first and then go to Albany where they generate the title.
